SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Agriculture
More than 90% of the population live on agriculture land and are engaged in sustenance farming, that is to say they grow food to eat and to provide a small income in order to purchase other, vital, non-food items. AEAD believes that supporting and improving agricultural methods within the farming community, will help provide for a better future for these families . Thanks to the support of our partners, AEAD is able to assist many families to increase crop production by providing them more appropriate equipment .

Agricultural projects as the one shown above are established in three villages: Tangaye and Doure in the province of Zandoma , expanding to surrounding villages in the northern region.
Drinking water
Clean drinking water is an element essential to life. In Burkina Faso It is a scarce and precious commodity for many of the population. Access to good water is particularly difficult during the dry season (September through May) as many water sources dry up completely during this time.
In recent years, AEAD has, thanks to support from its partners, has managed to sink as many as 15 wells like the one shown below, bringing clean water and thus new life, to many villages. We continue to strive to realize more.
Children come from far away to fetch water from a well sunk by AEAD.
Micro finance projects
A great number of Burkinabé, do not have access to banks or loans because of the lack of reliable guaranties and high interest rates. AEAD is helping these groups (often widows and young people) to set up small businesses in order to improve their precarious living conditions.
Training in the management of a small businesses and the grant of a small business loan will help the stake holders to rise out of the cycle of poverty.
AEAD, with the help of its partners, continues to assist these groups where it can. With your help we can seriously assault the cycle of poverty that scourges our society.
We can help them together !
